so how do you find people in the first place? (therein lies the problem). you have to visit other instances individually, find someone interesting, and then copy-paste their @handle@instance onto your instance's search bar to follow that account. there's also the entirely separate fedi-directory website — anyway, it's all very inconvenient

fedi users really need to tell people more the reason they're not seeing much of anything from other servers sometimes is because no one from their home server is following anyone from aforementioned other servers or vice versa
